The NOAA Climate Program Office (CPO) Climate and Societal Interaction (CSI) division’s results of their heat related projects are highlighted in the third webinar in the series.

The participation of the CPOs Knauss Fellow Andrea Miralles-Barboza at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt shows CPOs continued commitment to support the development of early career interdisciplinary climate professionals working at the interface of science and policy. Additionally, through her coordination in the Islands and International Partnerships event at the U.S. Center, Andrea highlighted CPOs important role in advancing international climate adaptation and resilience.

This podcast highlights equity and justice in coastal planning- two topics that are very integral to CPO and are administration priorities.

Last year, the U.S. launched the President's Emergency Plan for Adaptation and Resilience, or PREPARE. NOAA’s contributions to the PREPARE initiative were highlighted at the recent COP27 in Egypt.

The Biden-Harris Administration released the Nature-Based Solutions Roadmap, an outline of strategic recommendations to put America on a path that will unlock the full potential of nature-based solutions to address climate change, nature loss, and inequity. This marks the first time the U.S. has developed a strategy to scale up nature-based solutions.
