Lightning Talks on Special Topics

In the Winter of 2022, the CAP/RISA program initiated a call for presentations to inform potential cross-regional collaboration. The purpose of this exercise was to support network sharing and communications around efforts related to specific topics. CAP/RISA teams put together short, 5-minute videos describing their experience, expertise, or ideas for future projects related to the following three topics:

  • Development, Assessment, Testing of Engagement Methods - Engagement methods refer to those processes that build partnerships with communities, incorporate local knowledge sources, and integrate social, physical, and natural science information, to co-develop, co-produce, and co-manage research, planning, and other related activities
  • Identification and Assessments of Tradeoffs and Benefits of Adaptation Solutions - Interdisciplinary methods, processes, and evaluation to identify and assess social and physical tradeoffs and co-benefits of climate adaptation infrastructure options in communities to inform planning.
  • Wildfire Resilience - Actionable knowledge of the interactions between wildfire risk and social infrastructures in order to develop relevant solutions to improve climate resilience and reduce wildfire risk in communities.
